Tonight the Oakley and Shaun White present Air + Style Beijing competitors gathered in the world renowned Bird’s Nest Stadium for the Rider’s Draw. Anxiously awaiting their fate, riders picked names one by one to determine the line up from tomorrow’s opening round.
From the hustle and bustle of Beijing the Chinese countryside offers a stark contrast with fields that extend uninterrupted out to the horizon. It’s an hour-long bus ride from the city out to Huai Bei when suddenly, hidden in the otherwise brown hillside, appears the Haui Bei International Ski Resort. Complete with three chair lifts and a custom Oakley Snow Park, the resort is one of the oldest ski resorts in Beijing and host of the 2012 Oakley Rookie Challenge.
The one and only 6-star event of the World Snowboard Tour (WST) on the Asian continent, the Oakley and Shaun White present Air + Style Beijing, returns to China this Saturday, December 8, 2012. “It’s great to be back in China for the third year of Air + Style,” said Shaun White. “The riders put on an amazing show last year, and I’m guessing the level of snowboarding at this year’s event is going to be even crazier.”
