Ryan’s Favorite Track to ride? RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan. Even though he was coming off a year in which he’d won both the Lites Supercross Championship and the 250 Motocross Championship, Ryan Dungey’s 2010 season was one for the ages. Dungey started the season by showing that he belonged with the big boys in Supercross and by the time that series was finished zig-zagging around the stadiums of North America, he was at the very top of the sport – the 2010 Supercross Champion. The heated battle for the top of the Supercross standings is raging on. Retaking the lead in his Title defense, Oakley Motocross Star Ryan Villopoto claimed a resounding victory in San Diego before a massive crowd of 58,782 raucous fans in Qualcomm Stadium. It was his third victory on the season. “You really had to be smooth every lap,” Ryan said, rocking his Signature Series Oakley MX Goggles. “San Diego’s dirt is really slippery and made it tough to be consistent for the full 20-lap main event. I’ve never won San Diego in the Supercross Class. It was great to get my first win here and end Chad’s (Reed) win streak at Qualcomm Stadium. Hopefully I can start a streak my own as we head to Cowboys Stadium next week.”

James “Bubba” Stewart has had a tumultuous past couple years. Oakley’s Motocross Superstar and former Supercross/AMA Motocross Champion, fighting through injuries in 2010 and an erratic 2011, shot back at doubters yet again – claiming Supercross Oakland for his first triumph with his new team, Joe Gibbs Racing. Joining fellow Oakley Team stars Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Dungey, who both have tallied a win thus far early in the season, Bubba sent a clear message that he’s in it to win it this season. Rival Chad Reed held the advantage early on in the race. Until Lap 9, that is. In signature fashion, he powered past Reed and charged his way to victory with no one in sight.

And if there were ever any doubts about his move, most were put to rest this past Saturday as he claimed a resounding Phoenix victory to hand KTM their first-ever Supercross triumph…ever. A raucous 49,236 fans watched Ryan dominate the Main Event, wire-to-wire after a grabbing the Holeshot. Although fellow Oakley riders Davi Millsaps and Ryan Villopoto were hot on his tail, the Minnesota speed demon pulled away to cruise to victory.
