    LeMans was drenched this past weekend as MotoGP raged into town. Both in rain and drama, that is. Addressing the media again after a headline filled week lined with chatter about his retirement from the sport, Oakley’s MotoGP Defending World Champion Casey Stoner reaffirmed his intentions to walk away from his life as a pro rider following the season’s end. But as the buzz continued off the track, the Grand Prix of France saw some of the worst conditions in recent memory. The show went on, however, opening the door for Oakley’s MotoGP Legend Valentino Rossi to capitalize on the situation.

(May 15, 2012) – Oakley, one of the leading sports brands in the world, and MX Sports Pro Racing/Alli Sports – organizers of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing – announced today the “Oakley Bomb” Fastest Lap Program for the 2012 series. The weekly award program, set to recognize the fastest clocked laps at each of the 12 Nationals for both the 250 and 450 Classes with a special Oakley Bomb trophy, will recognize the rider who accumulates the most Bombs throughout the season with an Elite Oakley Time Bomb II Swiss Automatic Watch at the end of the year.

    Casey Stoner is clearly in top form. Oakley’s defending MotoGP World Champion claimed his second consecutive victory on the season in Estoril, clipping Jorge Lorenzo and bumping the Spaniard out of the top spot in the Championship standings to reclaim No. 1 with 66 points. It was also the Aussie’s 42nd overall triumph.

    Ron Capps is flat out stoked. Oakley’s NHRA Star claimed his 34th NHRA Funny Car Title with an impressive victory over Robert Hight in the final round at Atlanta Dragway on Sunday. “I’ve been to the final round here four times and it couldn’t mean more to finally win here, especially for NAPA AUTO PARTS because their headquarters are in Atlanta,” Ron said, rocking his Oakley eyewear, fire suit, racing gloves, racing boots and more. “Mike Rearden with NAPA has been such a big supporter and this Wally (trophy) is going to him.”
