Skull Cup: Standout Regional Golfers Collide in Scottsdale, AZ for Coveted Oakley Trophies
The PGA’s Phoenix Open may command the general public’s fanfare in early February. But another contest, that rocks the scene just down the street at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, is where the real hard-core, non-tour golfers focus their attention and passion in the desert. Enter the Oakley Skull Cup 2012. As the headline event that culminates the vibrant series of Oakley Pro Am golf tournaments – which hit the country’s major regions to find the most talented and explosive non-tour golfers around – Oakley’s core sport spirit collides with pure talent and a super fun atmosphere to crown a team of golfers with bragging rights and a collection of killer Skull Cups. In an East vs. West format, the two teams compete head-to-head to determine the superior men behind-the-club. All decked out in their high-tech Oakley golf apparel, footwear and eyewear, of course.

Oakley team athletes have always personified greatness. And this year, two of them have especially captivated sports fans across the Planet…enough to earn them a place in history with one of the most prestigious honors in Global Sport. Oakley’s Inspiring Track & Field athlete Oscar Pistorius and Golf Team Superstar Rory McIlroy were both honored with ultra prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards in London on Feb. 6.
